Happy Halloween

Finally - the boys were so excited - Halloween was here! Of course, I had to get a picture of them before school!

They all had a great day at school and then we headed south! It was a big evening on a school night, but worth the trip to go trick or treat with cousins! We headed to Aunt Allison and Uncle Ryan's house for dinner and to meet everyone. Uncle Ryan got started playing with the boys as soon as they walked in - the LOVE it!!!

After we convinced them to eat something and the rest of the gang arrived, it was time for pictures - ha ha! Here are my little trick-or-treaters - Austin - aka Thomas, Landon - aka Ironhide and Aiden - aka James.

When we got home, Dave asked if anyone wanted to walk around the house in the dark. The twins had gotten in trouble in the car so were faced with no candy at home that night, so when he told them they could have candy, they were both all about it! Landon didn't want anything to do with it. I don't have any pictures - it was dark - but it was so cute to watch them go around one side of the house with their little flashlights, just talking and walking....and then as I was watching for them, all I could see were two little lights moving as fast as they could coming around the deck! They were running as fast as they could! Big smiles on their faces, but still running! Aiden's comment - "that was spooky!"

And they got their candy! :)

Soccer - Go Justin!

Our nephew, Justin, is on a travel soccer team this year and his first came was against Hamilton Heights Stingers - and the fields are at Landon's school! So we were excited to have a game so close...and Landon was excited to ride with Aunt Allison and Justin and show them the way to his school!

I encouraged the boys at one point to run around in the field behind us. Next thing I know, all 3 had taken off across the big field. Landon was extra comfortable since it was at his school...so I got in a good walk going to get them! Here we are on our way back!!!

Later that day, I got out some of Landon's old costumes to see if they would work for the twins - and they do!! Here's a Halloween preview...Austin - aka Thomas and Aiden - aka James! Aren't they cute??

This is just silly to me - we bought this chair for Landon when he was a baby but since we've moved to this house it's been upstairs in the play room. We brought it down stairs so the boys could use it more...and Landon was so happy to sit in it to watch some TV!!! He's grown a lot since the first times we put him in it!!!

See? This was July 7, 2005. Look how our baby has grown!

More Halloween

In my attempt to catch up to Thanksgiving and keep as current as I can, here are a few photos from Halloween that I forgot were on the other camera! Since Halloween was more quiet than we anticipated with Landon being sick, I wanted to remember all that we did get to do!

After the 3 places we trick-or-treated, we got a little Burger King for dinner!


After dinner, I realized Landon's fever was on it's way back up...here he is on the couch, under my jacket because he was cold. Poor guy!

Halloween 2010

This year, Halloween didn't go quite as planned. Landon had gotten sick the previous Thursday evening - fever and just not feeling good. By Saturday night, we thought it had passed and we could Trick-Or-Treat as planned. That plan was to go to the south side and meet up with all thier cousins from some fun!

Well - come Sunday at lunch, Landon's just not acting right. Wouldn't you know - his fever is back up to 102!!! Okay - scratch those plans!!!

Luckily we have some family who lives close, and since Landon's costume had a mask, we decided he was covered. We gave him some Motrin and had some rest time. Then we got into costume, loaded up in the Jeep and made 3 stops!! They were somewhat disappointed we didn't do more trick or treating - but Landon was also so tired from the fever that once we got home, he was ready to relax on the couch! And luckily the twins didn't 100% understand!!!

As you can see, we had very colorful costumes this year! Here are some individual shots.

Aiden had a hard time settling on a costume this year. Each time we asked him, it was something different. So when he said Tigger more than once - we kind of decided for him because we already had this costume! He makes a pretty cute, bouncy Tigger!!!

Austin knew from the start he wanted to be Spiderman! And did he LOVE this costume! The picture on the left is actually from back in September when I brought the costume home - but I love it!! He was so proud!!


Like Austin, Landon knew right away what he wanted to be - Transformer Bumblebee. He, too, loved this the day I brought it home and would have worn it before Halloween if I had let him. I was impressed that he easily wore the mask and other pieces - usually he doesn't like those things. He was a great Transformer, even for being sick!!!

It was fun even though not what we had planned. The week following Halloween was a sick one at our house - Landon missed 4 days of school total, Austin missed 3 days of daycare and Aiden missed 2 days. Crazy!

Pumpkin Carving 2010

Here are some pictures from our fun afternoon of carving pumpkins. Since the boys are older, I actually had to help more since they all wanted them done at the same time. So - not as many pictures because Dave and I were up to our elbows in pumpkin guts most of the time. But it was great!

This year Dave had the great idea to line our kitchen table with plastic - it was secured underneath and didn't move - much better than trying to keep paper from sliding on the floor. Other than a few stray seeds, clean up was a breeze! And the boys loved it because they got to stand on chairs at the table!!!

And the finished pumpkins! We had some pattern faces left, and the boys enjoyed picking out their own eyes, noses and mouths. It was fun to see what they picked.


Gotta see them in the dark!!! Dave had them all lit when the boys came down from their bath that night - they loved seeing them in the dark! I love the boys in their pj's! As my dad always says "all clean, smell good, baby boys!" (I just wouldn't say baby to these boys...they are very clear that they are NOT babies!!!) :)


It was a great day! Dave and I both agreed that it was the easiest pumpkin carving session yet! They were all patient, they all tried to clean out their pumpkin, they took turns - no yelling, no crying - beautiful!!!
