Here is a picture of me at my LAST chemo! Now, I do have to go to the oncology center every 3 weeks until next May for 2 medicines I need due to the type of cancer I have. Being Her2neu positive, I need two meds called Herceptin and Perjeta to protect me - but the good news is they do not have any adverse side effect. I think I can handle that!
When I came home, I was greeted by the boys, my mother in law Nancy and a beautiful display of flowers, a celebration sign and a box of cards. My sister-in-law Debbie arranged for cards to be sent to her for me and I am so touched by the gesture and by everyone who thought of me and sent a card. I haven't even gotten to open them yet but I can't wait!!! I am so very touched - thank you everyone! Mission Complete is right!
Me with my signs and beautiful flowers from my boss and his wife (a 6 year breast cancer survivor), my loving family (and as you know, my Mom a 12 year breast cancer survivor - GO MOM!), and Dave's wonderful family. I love you all! Thank you!
My journey is not yet done, but I am one step closer to the end!!! A few changes today - my surgery date was rescheduled for October 9th. I will have about 6-8 weeks recovery time after and then radiation will start. That will be 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Then 6-12 months after radiation I will have a final reconstructive surgery. So - the journey is still long, but again - being done with chemo, this HUGE step feels so good!!!
