New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve was a busy but not busy day! It was busy because Dave tackled painting the rest of the family room (you can see him in the background of the first picture working around the windows!). It was great to have that room done - our current house has some sponge painting all over that we are really tired of! So now the room we spend the most of our time in looks a lot better!

While he worked on that, the boys and I headed over to see Grandma Day. Apparently that wore Aiden out - he fell asleep in the car and laid on the couch just like this for about 20 minutes!

Even though he bangs his head on his bed a lot (has done this off and on since he was able to move on his own in bed), this boy really can sleep just about anywhere!!!

The rest of the day we just played - a normal day at home. Austin and Aiden were tired, and since they are still just 2, they went to bed by 8:00 like normal. Much easier for all of us! :-)

Landon, on the other hand, was able to stay up! We told him he could stay up until midnight and he really didn't know what that meant but he was sure he could do it! He also knew that when his brothers went to bed, he got to do chocolate fondue, so he was excited all day!

Dave's parents came over after they had dinner and got to play with the boys for a while. Then the fun began...here are Landon and Grandma getting ready to start helping make fondue! You can tell Landon was excited!

Putting together the "fancy" glasses.

Landon worked hard and was excited...but decided (1) he didn't like sparkling apple cider and would just drink apple juice and (2) these glasses were "too plasticy" as he told me and hurt his mouth! He's a silly boy!

I put them both to work - ha! Landon was breaking up chocolate and Nancy helped cut fruit and pound cake!

Landon takes his jobs in the kitchen very seriously! He made sure every last piece of chocolate was broken up into small pieces! Good job Landon!

All the "dippers" were ready!

And the fondue is almost done! YUM! Can't go wrong with a fondue recipe that includes: 12 Hershey chocolate bars, milk, 10 marshmallows and whipping cream! YUM for sure!!!

Time to enjoy!!! Dave, Grandpa Day, Landon, Grandma Day

Landon had a good time...here are some shots of him just being silly! Love this boy!

Landon took this picture - not too bad! (Although I look very tired...and ready to get my hair done and get working out again - LOL!)

After fondue, looking at a book with Grandma.

So, anyone think Landon made it to midnight? I was pretty sure he wouldn't - this boy is usually up by 6:00/6:30 a.m. every day and usually in bed by 8:00 (8:30 at the latest) every night. But I thought...maybe? Well, I tried to get him to play some board games around 9:00 and he wasn't interested - I could tell he was getting tired. Sure enough...at 9:22 p.m. on New Year's Eve...Landon says "mom, can I just go upstairs?" Of course! :-)

Great pictures. Looks like Landon had fun with the fondue! I'm not sure I've ever had Makayla or Grant ask me to go to bed. Although I'm not sure I could handle a 6:00-6:30 wake-up.

I'll have visit to see your new paint!
