Learning to Draw

Just like Landon, or probably because they see Landon drawing so much, the boys are always asking me "can I drawl), mommy?" Acutally - 99% of the time it's Austin who asks if he can draw or color, and Aiden is usually along for the ride. It's pretty cute.

But the other evening - they both surprised me! It was a Wednesday evening (11/17) and Austin asked if he could draw. So I set them up at the table to draw while I was making dinner. See....

Next thing I know, Austin says something about drawing a smiley face...and I'm like "a what?" And he repeats it - "me draw a smiley face." So I go over to look...

And sure enough - he had drawn a perfect smiley face. I'm not kidding - no help from anyone! Isn't that great? (I noted his name and date on it later, already in the picture). I just love his little hand here holding the pen - so precious.

He's looking at me like "What? Of course I can draw a smiley face, Mom!"

And of course, as all this is going on, Aiden is telling me the same thing - that he is drawing a smiley face!!! Look at the big smile on Aiden's face...

And here is his handy work! Isn't it great? I cannot believe my babies are able to draw smiley faces and circles and lines and know that it takes two eyes, a nose and a mouth to make up a face. WOW!!!

Another shot of Austin's. The other thing that amazes me is how different their smiley faces look. Very interesting!
