Camp-Out!

Warning - this is a VERY picture heavy post!! Our home computer is on the fritz (a new laptop has been ordered - yippee) but because of that I haven't done the collages I would normally do! So - consider yourself warned!

Anyway - one thing we wanted to do with the boys this summer was camp. Outside. Turned out all of their cousins wanted to camp, too - ha ha - so it was family affair! Of course, we had to pick the hottest weekend so far this summer - 4th of July weekend! It was hot and there were a ton of mosquito's...but it was also a lot of fun! The kids didn't seem to mind!

The Tusing's arrived shortly after we did and it was time to get started! Justin was great and helped unload our car!

The boys were anxious to help!

Heading back to "Coyote Corner" as the kids call it! We camped at Grandma and Grandpa Day's house in Sheridan and back in this corner when they first moved in, a coyote may or may not have been spotted! :)

Watching Uncle Ryan get his tent set up!

Then time to tackle ours! The boys were so excited when we went to Dick's and bought this! They all agreed on red!

Just taking a walk!

Aiden with his sleeping bag back-pack. Such a good helper!

The Stevens' crew arrived....Ryan was helping Chad while Dave sat back with a cold one and watched. Someone had to supervise, right? ;-)

Aiden taking a break!

Landon was excited when Trent put his Lego magazine away...he had to take a reading break!

Just a campsite view.

Trying to start the fire!

Kind of far away, but Austin was cute trying to talk in the walkie-talkie.

Gator rides!

Time to cook dinner! Hot dogs over the fire - YUM!

Cousins enjoying a picnic! (Nate, Landon, Blake, Grant, Austin, Aiden)

The guys still cooking!

Aiden and Austin just kept eating! :)

Just hanging out!

More Gator rides. It's hard to see on this one, but 10 of the 11 kids were riding! Evan was in charge! :)

Aunt Allison brought water guns for the kids - thanks!

Love this pictures - Uncle Dave getting Nate and Aiden getting daddy! Check out Aiden's face!

Water fight!

Time for some fireworks! Justin was showing me he could pop a "Pop-It" in his hand! So tough!

Landon loves to throw them down and step on them at once!

Aiden and Dave

Austin was doing a great job throwing the pop-its.

Aiden wasn't sure at first but then he LOVED them!

Sparkler time! Made me nervous with all the kids, but they were fine. Landon hasn't been interested since he burnt his hand when he was 2. Aiden wasn't sure but Austin wanted to try! First time - with Daddy's help of course!

Checking it out!

Look at his concentration! (And yes - that is a mosquito on his forehead! They were everywhere!)

Second one he got to hold by himself - but we were both right there!

Austin looks like "seriously mom, another picture?" Great job, buddy!

Justin cracks me up - the twins trying to pull him!

Austin catching fireflies!

Showing daddy.

Aiden got one on his pinkie! Good job!

Landon wouldn't stay by me - but he caught quite a few, too!

Then it was time for more fireworks...all the kids checking out the snake.

I had to take this random picture inside - it's 9:50 and the twins are still wide awake! :) They didn't even know it was so late they were having so much fun!

Finally it was time to get in the tent - the boys were SO excited!!!

They slept pretty good for being in a tent. Aiden fell asleep first and moved around at night quite a bit, but never really woke up. I had him in the corner by me and he did great. Landon was the most quiet as we were going to sleep and once asleep, the most still. Once he was laying on Austin like a pillow - just like he did when we camped in our living room - but that was it. Austin, on the other hand, had a rough time going to sleep. The Coburn's in the tent next to us got an earful from us threatening him with timeouts and a trip home. Ha ha! Finally he settled down and did pretty well all night. Once he ended up at my feet and I think I actually kicked him - oops - but that was it!

Dave and I didn't sleep too great - between fireworks, outside sounds, the boys noises, and just laying on the ground - but it was a fun day/evening/overnight with the kids and the whole family!
