Here they are modeling their sleeping bags - they love them!!! Aren't they cute? I love that they have a bag to put them in! So easy to store!
Aiden was really excited! He was the one who asked me later that day where I was going to sleep and was trying to figure out what it all meant! They had a great time playing with cousins and being away from home! And Dave and I had a date night (Yum - Hacienda) and some shopping - it was great! Thanks Allison and Ryan! :)
On that Saturday (I'm out of order here - ha!) - we had some materials delivered for another project!! I think now that this is our second full summer in the house - and Dave isn't stricken with mono this year - he's been ready to tackle projects like the 500 bushes we planted and now a retaining wall! Here is the Menard's truck - 8 am on Saturday morning - dropping off 525 blocks!!!
The boys loved watching him unload the truck!
Finally, on Monday - Memorial Day - we spent the day outside working on the retaining wall! I picked up the boys from Allison around 10:30 and the rest of the day we were outside - and it was hot!! Here are Landon and Austin playing with water in the table. Aiden actually took a 2 hour nap this day - guess his cousins wore him out!
And here are all the bricks - looks like a good time, huh?
I just had to include a picture of our roses - aren't they beautiful? I love the bright pink color!
Of course, after playing in the water it was time for a snack and juice break! And Aiden is STILL sleeping!
Look at all Dave got done that day!!! The field to the right floods frequently and it is washing away the hill to the left where our trees are planted. We don't want to lose them, so we are building the wall to try to prevent that from happening! Dave did the hard work - I just carried bricks around the hill for him! Team work!
That night for dinner, we decided to make it simple and I ran to Burger King for dinner. It's not good that there is one so close! Plus - the boys had seen a commercial for their kids meal toy - squirt guns - so they were excited to actually get one! After dinner - time to play in the water!
Here's Aiden filling up his gun! I love the bare feet outside!
