Updates - WAY overdue!!!

Well, I am so very far behind, it's not even funny.  As I quickly approach the year mark since my last post, I can hardly believe it.  Things have been busy - not crazy, but busy enough I can't seem to find the time (or make the time) to keep our photos organized enough for form them into blog posts.  Maybe I will get caught up one of these times, maybe I will just start from here going forward - I'm not sure.  But I thought I would post a few updates and use the photos we had done this fall at a family photo shoot.  Our family is growing...most days growing TOO fast!  :)

The boys are doing well - I love pictures of the 3 of them together.  They all look so different, yet you can tell they are brothers.  They are usually pretty good about playing with each other - normal fights that siblings have - but it's been funny to watch the dynamic of the 3 of them.  They do all 3 play together, but more often than not it is 2 of them playing while the 3rd does their own thing.  And that combination changes daily.

Let's start with Landon:
*Landon is now 7 and a half and enjoying a great 2nd grade year.  He has another great teacher and I've been able to volunteer in his class a couple times a month.  I enjoy being able to help and see Landon in that environment.  He is really having a great school year.
*He is still into Legos - a little less than before as far as play time with them - but if you ask what he wants, it's Legos.
*He's very good at helping his brothers and is slowly starting to learn what it means to really help around the house.  He's taken initiative more times to help clear the table, take out the trash or things like that...although cleaning his room is still a challenge!

Next up - Austin:
*Austin is now 4 and a half - quickly heading to 5.  That I cannot believe.  He and Aiden both seem so much younger in a lot of ways than Landon did at this same age - and I'm not sure if it's because they are the youngest, because there are two of them or what - they can seem so old one minute and still so young the next.
*Austin is having a good year at preschool.  He works hard on his coloring and his writing - and this fall he has asked a lot of times how to spell this or that so he can write it himself and not have me write it for him.
*He is really into sports.  At this point, he is our athletic one!  Football, baseball, basketball, soccer - if we are outside (or even inside for that matter) he wants to play sports.  Tackle football is his favorite by far!  And the thing is - he is pretty good at all of them!  He seems to understand what we explain to him about each game.
*He is also our little helper.  If Dave is working on something, Austin is right there helping.  If I am looking for something, or in the kitchen baking - Austin is right there with me.  He's a very sweet little boy.

Finally - Aiden:
*Aiden is also 4 and a half and his 5th birthday will be here before I know it.  I cannot believe they will head to kindergarten next year - I'm not sure I am ready.  It will be an adjustment for them - the twins have always been together in daycare/preschool, but will have their own classes next year - so I'm curious to see how it will go.  They like to know the other is there, but at school aren't always together - so I think it will go well.
*Aiden is a pleaser...in a good way.  He never wants to see his brothers too upset and if they want something he has, he will usually default to them.  I try to encourage him to make his own decisions and not give in all the time...and he's learning.  He's very sweet.
*He loves to play with Landon.  He really wants to be like Landon, do what Landon is doing, be where Landon is...it's very cute.  Most of the time Landon allows it, which helps!
*Aiden is very loving, yet he wants to be independent.  I will ask him to sit with me, and he will...but then he's usually ready to move on real quick - doesn't want to sit on mom's lap too long (unless his brothers want to, and then it's a fight!).

All in all, the boys are doing well.  It's fun to watch them grow...very exhausting a lot of the time...but fun and rewarding as well.  Hopefully this post will inspire me to keep up with my blog again...and maybe even do some older posts, too!

Happy holidays (if I still have any readers!!!)!!!!
