Happy New Year!

Well, New Year's weekend was much like our earlier December weekends - poor Aiden was sick. I had ended up at the doctor with him that Friday after some high fevers earlier in the week and he just wasn't feeling good. Since he had recently been on an antibiotic, his pediatrician decided it was viral. His ears were fine and now cough, but his throat was red, so she checked him for strep - nope, that was negative. Dave and I were concerned because he just wasn't getting better, so the doctor agreed to send him for some blood work just to be sure it wasn't mono or something else. Poor Aiden - he's old enough now and has had blood work done before for allergy tests, so he knew what to expect. He just started crying when I told him. Break...my....heart. He was good once we got there and he knew we were stopping by Target on the way home and I told him he could pick a special toy!

Luckily we got results that day (our doctor is great) and everything was normal. He just had a bad virus. His fever went back up over 102 that day - poor guy! It was a quick trip into Target - his fever was going up by then - but I got what I needed and he picked this special little Clifford dog! He carried him around for days! Love you, Aiden! Friday night - his fever is still up and he starts saying his ear hurts. Great - we were just at the doctor! He slept okay that night but first thing Saturday morning (1/31) he tells me "my ear hurts." So, even though it's Saturday, we agree he needs to be seen. Poor thing - as soon as he heard that he says "my ear doesn't hurt. See? It feels better." Sorry buddy - we gotta go! So Aiden and I headed out to Immediate Care in Carmel and after waiting an hour and he was SO good - we make it to the room. I snapped this picture of him chilling on the table! This doctor checks his ear and sure enough - the start of an ear infection! So then he went back on antibiotics!!! After a few days he was feeling better!

So, after we get home from the doctor, we have some rest time, then it's time to start celebrating the New Year! Grandma and Grandpa Day came over for dinner and the boys played Xbox for them. They loved showing off! Here is Austin!

Then let the fun begin...bring on the fondue!!! Landon got to stay up last year for fondue and this year the twins got to, too! Aiden and Austin both loved it - although they didn't do much dipping - they just liked having long forks to spike things with! Made me nervous but no one was hurt! :)

After fondue and pajamas, Transformers the movie was on and they all got into that! Trying to stay awake!!!

Aiden kept playing "the little computer" as he calls it - it's the Nintendo Gameboy Advance! It helped keep him awake!

Austin started snuggling in...

I can't remember exactly, but I think Austin and Aiden made it until about 9:00 or 9:30. Not bad at all for 3 and a half year olds - who are used to being in bed at 8:00!! They did great!

After they went to bed, it was time to focus on Landon! He really wanted to make it to midnight. So, Dave brought down a new Transformer book for him....and he spent some time drawing and looking at that.

He and I played many games of Left, Right, Center to keep him awake - that was fun! And he just relaxed on the couch with his blanket! And I'm happy to report - Landon made it to MIDNIGHT!!!! Good job, buddy!!! He was pretty happy, but it was funny - pretty much as soon as that was over, he was like "can I go to bed?" Cute! I think I had him tucked in by the time it said 12:04 on his clock!!! Thanks for staying up with us, Landon! Happy New Year!

Luckily they all slept pretty decent that night and New Year's Day was pretty low key. We all dressed in our Colts gear one last time - but didn't get a picture. Poor Aiden was laid out most of the day with fever. There's nothing like cuddling with your teddy bear....
