The twins had been home from school that because Aiden had been sick. Well, that afternoon I started noticing that Austin's temp was slowly rising, but no other symptoms. So we ventured out anyway - right at 5:30 when they started - so the boys could see Santa! The fun thing - one of the little girls from the twins daycare class was there, too, with her younger twin siblings. So it was fun to see some kids they knew!
Here they are - waiting for their turn. Of course, Landon was NOT going to go first! Ha ha! Aiden initially wanted to go first but once we got there, he told us "Austin can go first!" Luckily Austin is usually pretty brave so he was ready to go! Some of the pictures are from my phone and some are from our camera, so that is why they are similar but different! ;-)
Austin jumped right up, but there wasn't any smiling! Maybe it was the fever...
He listened to Santa and when asked, said he wanted Power Rangers for Christmas.
Telling Santa all about it.
Next up - Landon's turn. He was still pretty quiet like last year but this time only said one thing - Legos. He had wanted to take his entire Christmas list but we told him it was better to just tell Santa what he wanted. When Santa asked if there was anything else he just shook his head no!
Landon really listening.
Finally, Aiden was ready to go! He also did a great job - was very quiet, but told Santa he wanted Power Rangers, too.
Aiden is always good about looking at me to smile for the camera - great job, Aiden!
Now - I mentioned earlier that Austin's fever had been slowly going up that afternoon. Well, jump ahead to the next day. He comes out of his room around 4:00 a.m. saying his stomach felt sick. Sure enough - his fever was up so high (104.7ish) that he threw up anything I gave him for liquid or meds. Poor thing - looking back at these pictures just break my heart! It was a scary hour or so, waiting for him to shake it off and the fever to start coming down! Poor baby!
Aiden woke up fairly early that day, too, still not feeling 100%. Aiden has actually been the sick one this fall with multiple fevers, ear infections, congestion...poor Aiden!! This was actually a pretty good day for him!
Here is Austin a little perked up! I had finally gotten him to take his shirt off to cool off and he finally tried toast. Luckily even though it spiked later, it did not get this high again! I know fevers are the body's way of fighting infection but I really hate when the boys have fevers!
Later that day, the boys were nice and perky for lunch and enjoyed sitting at the island since Landon was at school!
Then came the crash! I don't really remember specifics - I mean, this was almost a month ago - I just know we had about 3 weeks of fevers that caused us to meet 2 weekend plans for Christmas with my family - so sad still - and a sleep over with cousins twice!!!!! Actually, it's been more like 5-6 weeks of someone being sick!!!
Knock on wood - today as I post this (January 9th, 2012) - we are healthy! I hesitate to even say it! ;-)
